Gather your ideas and write them down.
Avoid the temptation to start churning out words as soon as possible. To go anywhere in an essay, you must first figure out where you want to go and how to get there.
Make an outline or a mind map of your thesis to prevent time-consuming false starts. A mind map is similar to a family tree for your thesis and will help you organise your thoughts. Begin at the “trunk” of the tree (a circle in the centre of your paper). Connect the major branches (circles that indicate subtopics) to the fundamental concept by drawing lines between them, and continue fanning out in this fashion. If a specific branch bears fruit, it should be separated and treated as a distinct organism.

Please keep in mind that just adding on more paragraphs or inserting words does not constitute modification. Students will sometimes look back to the question in the midst of a difficult paragraph and come up with a whole different notion.
